Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish native singer. She was born on 25, December, 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she took flute lessons and the harpsichord over three years. She survived on a student salary and part-time work in order to make ends meet. Lennox felt that her skills aren't the same as her Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative paths she could take. Lennox was a part of a group known as Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. The band did not get to compete in the competition for talent New Faces on I.T.V. She was the lead singer in The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. It was here that she met Dave Stewart and together they formed The duo Eurythmics. Lennox went on to record her debut solo album Diva. The album came out in 1992. It received lots of praise by critics as well as the general public. Nostalgia Lennox's 6th solo album was released in November 2014. The C.D. Lennox selected her favorites soul jazz blues tracks from early childhood. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four piano improvisations was published by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. is the companion album of her artwork in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art titled Now I Let You Go... It is also her debut independently-released album.
